DESCRIPTION:BRLO’s brewer is over from Berlin for one evening\, and three BRLO beers are on tap in our Biergarten. Wednesday 23 September\, 6 to 8 PM. No cover. \nBRLO is one of the breweries that changed what Berlin drinks — a Kreuzberg operation making beer that is properly German and not remotely old-fashioned. Their brewer is in Washington for a night and he is spending it here\, pouring and talking to whoever wants to talk. \nThree of their beers are on tap for the day. Try all three side by side with the BRLO Flight — three 0.2L pours\, $18 — or drink them by the glass. The full Oktoberfest menu is on\, so this is dinner as well as a beer night: warm pretzels with Obatzda to start\, and the Bavarian plates through the evening. \nThe Biergarten holds 40 under our full-size umbrellas\, with the dining room inside. First come\, first served — but if you want a table for dinner afterwards\, book it. \nProst.

Live music\, room to run around under the umbrellas\, and a menu that has something for everyone at the table. \nFor the kids: the Kidstoberfest plate — Käsespätzle\, a frank in a blanket\, and a fruit cup\, $12. \nFor everyone else: the full Oktoberfest menu. Bretzel with Obatzter\, Kartoffel Pfannkuchen\, Currywurst; Jägerschnitzel and Hühnerschnitzel; Sauerbraten short ribs; Schweinehaxe\, the roast pork shank with caraway-bier jus; Apfelstrudel and warm Schokoladenkuchen. Festbier and Märzen for the grown-ups. \nBring the children\, bring the grandparents. Two blocks from Union Station. Reservations recommended — Monday is not a normal service day for us\, so the room is only as big as the bookings.
