SUMMARY:BRLO Happy Hour — Berlin's Brewer in the Biergarten
DESCRIPTION:BRLO’s brewer is over from Berlin for one evening\, and three BRLO beers are on tap in our Biergarten. Wednesday 23 September\, 6 to 8 PM. No cover. \nBRLO is one of the breweries that changed what Berlin drinks — a Kreuzberg operation making beer that is properly German and not remotely old-fashioned. Their brewer is in Washington for a night and he is spending it here\, pouring and talking to whoever wants to talk. \nThree of their beers are on tap for the day. Try all three side by side with the BRLO Flight — three 0.2L pours\, $18 — or drink them by the glass. The full Oktoberfest menu is on\, so this is dinner as well as a beer night: warm pretzels with Obatzda to start\, and the Bavarian plates through the evening. \nThe Biergarten holds 40 under our full-size umbrellas\, with the dining room inside. First come\, first served — but if you want a table for dinner afterwards\, book it. \nProst.

SUMMARY:Pig Roast — Whole Suckling Spanferkel in the Biergarten
DESCRIPTION:Pig Roast — a whole suckling pig\, roasted\, in our Biergarten on Capitol Hill. Saturday 26 September from noon. $65 per person. \nThis is the first of three roasts in our Oktoberfest season and it is the one nobody has been waiting all month for yet\, which is the best reason to come to it — the room is easier and the table is yours for longer. \n$65 gets you: roast suckling pig\, your choice of two Beilagen\, Apfelstrudel with house-made vanilla ice cream\, and a full litre of Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest bier in the proper Maß. \nThe sides are the real ones: Sauerkraut stewed with bacon\, Rotkohl\, Bratkartoffel with onion and bacon\, Spätzle\, Käsespätzle\, Kartoffelknödel in the halb und halb style\, Kartoffelsalat\, Gurkensalat. \nWe open at noon for the roast — pig is served starting at 1pm. The Biergarten sits under full-size umbrellas\, good for sun or a shower\, and the dining room is inside if the afternoon turns cool. \n$65 per person\, plus tax and service. Reserve — this sells out\, and one pig is one pig.
