Kidstoberfest — Columbus Day in the Biergarten

Kidstoberfest — our family afternoon in the Biergarten, Columbus Day, Monday 12 October, 3 to 6 PM. No cover.

The city has the day off and school is out, so we open on a Monday we are normally closed and give the Biergarten over to families for the afternoon. Live music, room to run around under the umbrellas, and a menu that has something for everyone at the table.

For the kids: the Kidstoberfest plate — Käsespätzle, a frank in a blanket, and a fruit cup, $12.

For everyone else: the full Oktoberfest menu. Bretzel with Obatzter, Kartoffel Pfannkuchen, Currywurst; Jägerschnitzel and Hühnerschnitzel; Sauerbraten short ribs; Schweinehaxe, the roast pork shank with caraway-bier jus; Apfelstrudel and warm Schokoladenkuchen. Festbier and Märzen for the grown-ups.

Bring the children, bring the grandparents. Two blocks from Union Station. Reservations recommended — Monday is not a normal service day for us, so the room is only as big as the bookings.
